Renewable energy in Nottingham

Solar Renewables is based in Kimberley, so Nottingham is our home patch — most surveys here are booked within a week.

What we see in Nottingham

Nottingham mixes Victorian terraces in the inner suburbs with post-war semis, new-build estates on the fringes and a large industrial and warehouse belt along the A52 and A610 corridors. That spread means very different answers: a terrace with a small south-facing rear roof needs a compact high-efficiency array, while a distribution shed off Junction 26 can carry several hundred kilowatts.

Work we typically carry out here

  • Roof-mounted solar PV on terraced, semi-detached and new-build homes
  • Battery storage sized around off-peak import tariffs
  • Air source heat pumps on properties with completed insulation works
  • Commercial rooftop arrays on warehousing and light industrial units
  • Community and faith building projects across the city

Planning and grid

Most domestic installations in Nottingham fall under permitted development, but conservation areas around The Park, Sneinton Market and parts of Mapperley need checking before design. Grid applications go to National Grid Electricity Distribution.

Please note

Installation work is delivered by our network of MCS-certified installation partners. Solar Renewables & Importations Ltd does not itself hold MCS certification.

Coverage
