Process

How we work

Eight stages, in the same order on every project — so you always know what happens next and what it depends on.

1. First conversation

A short call or enquiry form to understand the building, how you use energy and what you are trying to achieve. If a project is not worth doing, we will say so at this stage rather than after a survey.

2. Data and desktop review

We look at your bills or half-hourly data, roof orientation, shading and available space. For commercial sites this is where we establish how much generation you would actually consume on site, which is what determines payback.

3. Site survey

An on-site visit covering roof structure and covering, loft access, consumer unit and metering position, cable routes and — for heat pumps — heat loss and emitter sizing. Nothing is quoted firm until this is done.

4. Design and proposal

You receive a system design, generation and savings modelling with the assumptions written out, a fixed price, and the funding or tax position where it applies. Every figure is traceable to an assumption you can challenge.

5. Consents and grid

We handle planning where it is needed and the DNO application (G98 or G99) for connection and export. This runs in parallel with equipment ordering so it does not add to the programme.

6. Installation

Installation work is delivered by our network of MCS-certified installation partners. Solar Renewables & Importations Ltd does not itself hold MCS certification.

7. Commissioning and handover

Testing, certification, MCS paperwork where applicable, export registration and a walkthrough of the monitoring app. You get the full document pack, not just a certificate.

8. Aftercare

Product and workmanship warranty documentation issued in writing by the manufacturer and installing partner, monitoring so underperformance is spotted early, and a route back to us for servicing, faults or later additions such as a battery or EV charger.

Please note

Grant and funding figures are indicative only. Eligibility, award levels and scheme availability change and must be verified with the scheme administrator before you rely on them.

No obligation

The first three stages cost you nothing. You only commit once you have a fixed price and a design you understand.

Start at stage one

Tell us about the building and we will tell you whether it is worth surveying.
